Why this happens so often

Importing Chinese powersports vehicles has a low barrier to entry and a high failure rate. A company registers, certifies a few engine families, sells machines for a handful of seasons, and then stops — leaving no parts supply, no warranty, and no one to ask. The badge on the bodywork becomes a dead end.

The engine underneath it is a different story. The Chinese factories are the durable part of this market: they supplied several American importers at once, and typically carried on supplying others long after any individual brand folded. So the question worth asking is not who sold me this but who built it, and who else did they build for.
