What the Jcl Powersports filings say about the engines
Every Jcl Powersports filing on record is carburetted — 24 certificate rows, 2008 to 2012, and not one fuel-injected engine among them.
The engine codes on Jcl Powersports' test vehicles —9 distinct across the filings — are led by 1P73MM, 152FMH, 152FM, 163FML and IP57QMJ-2. The code is stamped on the crankcase and is a better search term than the badge.
22 of the 24 filings are 50-state (California-legal); the other 2 were 49-state only.
Rated power across the range runs from 2.2 kW to 14 kW (about 3 to 19 hp).
The vehicle builders named are China Buyang Group Co.,Ltd, China Buyang Group Co., Ltd, China Buyang Group Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Band Chan Industrial & Trading Co., Ltd. and others — the chassis and the engine do not always share a source.
Each figure is read straight off the EPA certificate rows; the per-family pages below carry the full breakdown for every engine family.
