Scooter brake pad measurement and tracing card

Chinese scooter pads are sold by shape, not by model. Trace yours, measure four dimensions, and compare against the listing photograph before you buy.

The problem it solves

There is no reliable model-to-pad catalogue for most Chinese scooters. Sellers list pads by a generic shape code or by a photograph, and buyers match by eye. Pads that look identical in a photograph differ by two or three millimetres in height — enough that they will not sit in the caliper.

Who it is for

  • Anyone replacing pads on a machine no catalogue covers
  • Owners matching a pad against a listing photograph with no dimensions
  • Anyone checking whether their pads are worn out before a ride

What is on it

  • A true-size 5mm tracing grid for the backing plate outline
  • The four dimensions sellers actually work from
  • A friction-material thickness check
  • Backing plate feature checklist — tabs, ears, pin holes, wear indicator

How to use it

  1. 01Check the calibration rule before tracing.
  2. 02Take the pads out, clean the backing plate, and draw round it on the grid.
  3. 03Mark the pin hole centres — they are the feature most likely to differ between two pads of the same outline.
