The problem it solves
Search for a vacuum hose diagram for a Chinese scooter and you will find a dozen, all different, none identified to a specific engine. They are different because the machines are different — carburettor variants, tap types and emissions plumbing all vary. Copying somebody else's diagram is how a machine that ran badly ends up not running at all.
Who it is for
- Anyone about to take a carburettor off
- Owners who have already taken it off and cannot remember where a hose went
- Anyone diagnosing a fuel starvation or air leak problem
What is on it
- A labelled component list to number your own hoses against
- A large drawing area for your own routing sketch
- A hose-by-hose record: from, to, diameter, length
- A leak and blockage check list
How to use it
- 01Photograph everything from three angles BEFORE you disconnect anything.
- 02Number each hose with a piece of tape and write the same number on this sheet.
- 03Draw your routing yourself. This sheet deliberately does not draw it for you.
Use it with the registry
Other sheets you may want
- Chinese scooter won't start: diagnostic chartA structured way through the four things an engine needs, ending at an observation you can make rather than a part you should buy.
- GY6 wiring colour and continuity notes sheetThere is no universal wiring colour standard on these machines. This sheet records the one your machine actually uses.
- Mystery part measurement sheetYou are holding a part. Nobody knows what it is called. This sheet records everything a supplier needs in order to find it for you.
