The problem it solves

The first instinct after buying one of these machines is to order upgrades. The right first move is to find out what it is and whether it is safe, because a machine you cannot identify is a machine you cannot buy parts for, and half of what people upgrade first was never the problem.

Who it is for

  • Anyone who has just bought a used Chinese scooter or ATV
  • People who have been given one and know nothing about it
  • Anyone who has owned one for a while and never done any of this

What is on it

  • The record-keeping to do on day one, while the panels are still coming off easily
  • The safety items to check before the first proper ride
  • The consumables worth replacing straight away on an unknown machine
  • What NOT to spend money on yet

How to use it

  1. 01Do the numbers first. Everything else depends on them.
  2. 02Do the safety checks before the first real ride, not after.
  3. 03Resist the upgrades until the machine is known and running properly.
